MHS Special Services
Purpose Statement
We at MHS Special Services adhere to the goals of the Idaho SDE SpEd Dpt. and IDEA VI B:
- To enable all students to achieve high academic standards and quality of life, the Special Education Team works collaboratively with districts, agencies, and parents to ensure students receive quality, meaningful, and needed services.
- Each child with a disability must be provided a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE) that prepares them for further education, employment and independent living.
- An Individual Educational Plan (IEP) provides a working document that can be amended as the student’s needs change. The IEP is created collaboratively by IEP team members, including parents, the student, if appropriate, the student’s teachers and other district personnel.
